Robert B. Pearlman is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a specialist in Taxation Law and heads the firm’s taxation, estate planning and probate departments. A native Charlestonian, Mr. Pearlman received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College in 1969, graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1972, and earned his Masters of Laws in Taxation degree from the College of William and Mary in 1974.

Bobby has been engaged in private practice in Charleston since 1973 with primary emphasis on the representation of individual clients in the areas of estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate and estate administration, including contested matters. Mr. Pearlman also advises business clients in the areas of taxation and business planning, corporate and partnership law, and the newly developed area of limited liability companies.

A frequent lecturer at legal education seminars and programs, Mr. Pearlman is a member of the Charleston Tax Council, the South Carolina Bar Section on Taxation, as well as the section on Estate Planning and Probate. He is a member of both the American Bar Association and the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners. Mr. Pearlman has served on the State of South Carolina Tax Study Commission. For three years he served as a Commissioner on the South Carolina State Ethics Commission, for which he was awarded the Order of the Palmetto by Governor Richard Riley.
